Well I hit the wall on tiredness and now I'm coming through the wall. As expected the stuff is a bit technical but fairly straight forward. Trying to find everything is going to be a worry.

Actually I learn a new computer system it turns out just as I'll be getting to grips with it a new one will appear. It's 5 years late, well it would have been if it appeared in October as expected, but now it's due in June. Outside private company of course, cos government ones would cut it, like the one I'm using in the office from the 80's from the days before icon driven stuff (like Windows.)

Still I've now done 2 weeks and got an interim payment from my wages so bill paying has occurred. Nice.

The Worrier turned 30 on Wednesday, she had a argument with family and we went for a nice sit down Chinese. I got her some Sandman (DC.) Neil Gaiman stuff, she had only heard of it fairly recently. Last in year in Edinburgh actually and some films including Willow with Warwick Davis.

For Valentine's we did little. I did get her the Johnny Depp, Sweeney Todd (It's a musical with Depp so an Ideal fem-film.) and a home-made card. I got a painting rom her, it's seems we are going hippy-ish.

Once more into the breach dear hearts,

Moo.

Not been on here much, in part due to a lethargy and The Worrier doing online job applications. Real War and Peace jobs.

I start a new job Monday with Customs on The VAT help-lines. 10 weeks training. I hope I Get through that. Starting to get the colly wobbles about it.

The Worrier has had several job interviews, one still looks a decent possible so fingers crossed. It's in the bus game. Last night another online jobby. Overly complicated and next to impossible to send.

Tonight we hope to go and see My Bloody Valentine in 3-D. I'm hoping for lots of pick axes flying at the screen. Should be god silly fun, as mass murder always is. ;-)

I have been falling behind on the radio stuff again, but the ongoing run of The Man in Black with Mark Gatiss has been fun. It has it's faults but mostly thumbs up.

Today in Manchester we has deep layer of grey fog, it seems to be hugging the city tight.

Happy Belated New Year,

Moo.

Well as Christmas approaches Myself and the Worrier are no longer in work. Mine was expected, if earlier than expected and the Worrier lost a warehouse job. Still that customs job will hopefully be there in Feb. So long buses and school kids.

An added note to the bus accident. When the Worrier hit the barracks, she hit the armoury and they had guns trained on her from the other side of the wall (inside.). Scary no???

Went to see The Children. There is some excellent images. it's not a perfect film, but it really packs a punch and though is nasty it is something I would give the thumbs up to.  One of the better British horror films for sure.

I saw the Worrier driving a dragon, this is one of the big, 3-axles, 6 wheeler, double decker buses from magic bus (Stagecoach cheap fleet.), called a dragon because they were acquired from the far east and africa. A lot of the old Magic buses have seen better days.

Today I'm doing a college bus should be ok. The crew is mainly same as last year and the new people fit in well, so the work mate side is fine. Anyway i will be doing timings so won't be on the van much until Christmas.

Still to hear from the HM Customs. Ho hum.

Trying to write the review for Jason and The Argonauts is proving slightly more difficult than first thought, the plot at the beginning has kept much of the Greek legand so is over complicated coincedences with gods sticking their oar in. At least it means I can hit the word count easy peasy.

Got The League of Extra-ordinary Gentleman, not sure how much i like it. It seems contrived more than ever.

Plus the last part of Mody Dick from Marvel Illustrated is mine, the last part sold out really quickly so I've been hunting this one down like Captain Ahab.

Well started work again and two days running I was soaked. not working this weekend so the weather is fine. I aim to go out later so expect it to rain then. Buses are great, honest.

Well Moods, you were right about me not worrying about the test. I had the interview and it went ok, I won't know the out come for almost three weeks. Fingers crossed.

Watched Ghosts of Mars, I really like this SF Precinct 13 style magubins. I know it a mess and seems to have been responsible for such greats as Resident Evil but still it's mindless fun.

The Worrier is now a fully qualified bus driver and has been out driving one round Manchester. Should be fun if I end up working on one of her buses.

Hope to go and see Hellboy 2 later today. Should be good fun. I enjoyed the first one and Ron Perlman is always fun. I wonder who gets beaten up most him or Bruce Campbell in his films.

Just listening to football on radio. Oh dear Scotland. Don't do a Costa Rica.

Watched Jason and The Argonauts the other night. it was great fun. Hopefull yI'll be doing a review for 60's Shockers, I think Darrell proposed book should be a goer.

The food poisoning was added to be a heavy cold. So I've not been out much. The stomach cramps have stipped, I just keep dozing off. I keep trying to do stuff, and I'll get one thing done but not the rest. Overall I feel tired but quite chipper.

I also have an interview for the job at Customs. Looks like you were right about the test Moods. I should not have worried so much.

Watched The New York Ripper. Nasty misogynistic film. Not one I'd want to watch in a hurry. I'd forgotten how nasty it was. I borrowed it of my sister. She doesn't have a high view of it too.

One one last note I finally broke my writer's block after a few years. It was not that i could not write, but never finish anything. With getting the review for The Blood Beast Terror finished off I finally broke through that barrier. I can feel the monkey's off my back. Hope Darrell likes it. The last thing I wrote was Mr. Hillsinger's Dinner. Not sure if that will make BHF book 3.

Well I was under-payed again this week. I just found out but I think I'd better phone tomorrow when I'm calmer or I may say a few rude things. This means the rent has not been paid, so I'm going to have to go softy to them.

Bugger.

Bought some nice bottles of beer to cheer me up. Williams Bros, Black. A splendid Scottish beer.

I could have been like Lou Barlow but I'm more like Ken Barlow... now where did I put my Joy Division oven gloves.

I watched a 'A Place of Ones Own' last night. A gentle British ghost story from the '40's. It had some lovely comic asides, but it was a little stagy and the leads, esp. Mason was too young for the part. But he did a decent job of the Yorkshire accent.

Just watched Child's Play 2.  Enjoyable but goes a wobbly at the end. Don't get out the car. In the house it's fine but once people start running around with on the back it loses some thing.

Made some jelly, raspberry but it won't sat so I'm  angry. GGGRRR!!!

So I made the custard anyway and myself and the worrier ate it. Very nice.

Wemt our kids and watched V for Vendetta. A lot better than I'd been lead to believe but not a major masterpiece. At least it had something to say.

On the way home about 6 in the morn. We spotted a young skinny cat on top of my sister's flats. It a 3 storey apex-roofed so a good way up. Finally our kid phoned me up to say the fire brigade using a Simon Snorkel had brought the cat down. It's possible that it may have been the since Thursday.

My sister offered it a home, but the RSPCA needed to take to a vet. Still we think we know who the owner is.

Just eaten sone lovely devilled kydneys.

Hello,

Not very post heavy am I?

Well Bradford was great as usual but we could only afford one day of films. Next year we hope to do the whole thing.

The Thing in 70 mm was spectacular. Just what the dr ordered.

Still on the hunt jobs so if anyone sees some good ones in the Manchetser area let me know.

Happy Days,

Moo.

PS The Ramsey Campbell/ Conrad Williams reading, talk , question time was fab. Some good thoughts aired, esp. about the horror of cities.
