The Cornerhouse in Manchester has whittled The Darkness Over Britain down. It was a double bill of TV stuff. The Incredible Robert Baldick, a Terry Nation pilot for serial that never happened. It was part of the TV Playhouse. A sort of early Victorian psychic detective, Robert Hardy played the lead and he was not the one over acting the most, very ripe at times. The other was Blink, from last years Dr. Who. It looked good on the big screen, but I thought lost some of it's impact. Excellent tale.

Then went to the Plaza in Stockport, £6 for a double bill of horror. The Ghoul, it was the TYburn version from the 70's (They're playing the wrong Ghoul went the cry.) A stately horror film, It looks good but I wish more was going on. We never really engaged with the characters. the second was hammer's Hound of the Baskervilles. A better film, and it looked great.

Plus they had the organ there.

As you can see it also changes colour.

It's a lovely building and Paul H. thought the building was great too as did The Worrier.

Ok here are a few pics from the Festival of Fantastic Films.#

here is all the fun of the Festival, Mr. Higson just can't take any more. The Worrier is such I charmer, you can see why I married her.

As you can see Sheila Keith is eying up Darrell's Monster Munch (They are vegetarian even though are beef flavour.), the T-shirt was not shiney but you can't hide an old thesp. that easily. The Monster Munch were a birthday present.

By the way The Worrier was sacked after the bus crash, but the case has gone to appeal. We wait for next Thursday.

On that HM Customs job I went for, I gotr an e-mail saying I'd past the test and was on the Merit list for 12 months, so if any jobs come up, I may have a chance. Nothing moves slower than the government.

Had a cracking time, some films were reshuffled but it was no where near as bad as the one you went to Moods. The guests were excellent, Russ Conway was superb, Damien Thomas was excellent and a lovely man, Richard Gordon and Norman J Warren are a splendid double act with experience and wisdom of the film business like nobody else, and are really generous with there time and knowledge and Lamberto Bava was a splendid chap, struggled with his English a little but was in good form, I even bought him a drink. Lots of humour from the guests. hopefully there will be a next year.

Saw a bucket load of films and shock of shocks, Darrell's team did not win the quiz. Finally saw Devil Doll and a corker it was too.

A splendid time was had by all.

Plus Darrell had a birthday present from us BHFers there, a packet of Monster Munch, what else. (They were Beef but they don't have meat in them, they even have a veggie ok symbol on them.) 70's big un's too. Plus there was a card signed by the BHFers there. Moxx, Higgy baby, Jason, Glenn, The Worrier, and some idiot who put Moo on his card.

If you prod me I'll put pictures up.

Here's Richard Gordon producing credits from IMDb http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0330545/

He also worked Mother Reilly Meets the Vampire and there is a splendid still of him with Bela Lugosi.

Well it's been an odd time.

Was attacked on my way home this Monday, a few punches in the head and a kick in the back, all for having a bit an arguement with my wife while walking home.

I've been reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Better than the last one. Hey up to date me.

I keep going on the net and this and the BHF site keep crashing or going slower than a Sunday in the 70's. The rest seem ok.

I can't wait for the start of the Manchester's Festival of Fantastic Film. It looks better than last years already and I know the organisation can't be as bad as last year.

Well fingers crossed and I'll let you know.

My father in law is much better.

Nadia hates her job, to add insult to injury, she did not get the permanant post (17 went for 11 places.) of the 17 4 were famale and not one made it. A lad who has been there less than a year got a place, Nadia has been with the firm almost 3, 2 years at this job. One lass has been doing it for almost 4 years. Two of th lasses have gone on the sick. To be honest the whole thing stinks.

Well speak to you all soon,

Wayne.

Moo. I just stop mooing you know.
